Fun Friday for Young LAG Players

By: Travis Sanner

Just days before we celebrated Independence Day, the Laurel Auto Group was doing something else patriotic, helping a group of younger players through a camp dedicated to America’s favorite pastime. An excited young group of little leaguers joined the Laurel Auto AAABA team just before Friday’s doubleheader games vs Martella’s Pharmacy and Paul Carpenter’s Capital Advisors.

Not only did these players get to toss with their favorite LAG players, they were able to get autographs from the players as well. Most of the players on Laurel’s team have never had to give out autographs before, so it was a great experience for every party involved. I asked LAG left-handed pitcher Danny Clark how it felt to see such excitement from the kids that came to the camp, he said “it was amazing to see how excited all of these kids got to see us, it really showed me that what we’re doing here means something to the community.”

LAG’s next game is Tuesday, July 5th against Paul Carpenter’s at 7:45 p.m. at Roxbury Park. The players at Laurel Auto thank our fans for continued support throughout our summer season!
