Final Regular Season Game for LAG

By: Travis Sanner

The 2016 summer AAABA baseball season is coming to a close, with many of the teams playing their last games within the next few days. This holds true for Laurel Auto Group as well, who will finish their regular season games on Wednesday against First Commonwealth.

All-in-all it has been a rock solid season for the team, who has played their way into the number 2 spot in the league standings on their way to the playoffs. With a win today against Paul Carpenter’s Capital Advisors, Laurel set their fate in stone by clinching said number 2 position. The team has been ecstatic to receive huge contributions across the board from some veteran players such as Ben Webb, and some players who are in their first year with the franchise, such as Eddie Kilkeary. Now is the time that reinforcements are arriving for LAG, with key players returning from injuries, primarily in the outfield on the mound with Luke Smeltz and Dan Clark.

With solid contributions across the board in both the offensive and pitching departments, the team feels very confident about where it’s heading and just how well it can do in the playoffs.
