Early lead gives Laurel Auto Group victory over Paul’s Renegades, 11-1

Laurel Auto Group jumped out to an early lead on Paul’s Renegades and captured an 11-1 victory on Wednesday at Point Stadium.

With eight runs in the first three innings, Laurel Auto Group left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A fielder’s choice, a two-run single by Alex DiRienzo, a wild pitch, and a sacrifice fly by Danny Clark in the first inning and an RBI single by DiRienzo and a two-run single by Austin Sleek during the second inning helped Laurel Auto Group put some runs on the board early.

DiRienzo racked up three RBIs on two hits for Laurel Auto Group.

Tyler Tubbs shut down Paul’s Renegades while he was on the bump. Paul’s Renegades managed just one hit off of Tubbs, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Bryja was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.

Laurel Auto Group quickly matched Paul’s Renegades’ strong inning with a two-run inning of its own in the fourth. Laurel Auto Group scored on a two-run double by Clark.
