Local baseball in brief 6/21/2013

JOHNSTOWN — AAABA League

Delweld 9, Laurel Auto Group 6: Two home runs from Josh Staniscia, who was 2-for-4, and three RBI from Devin Pritts (2-for-4, two runs) helped Delweld to a victory at Roxbury Park.

Drew Hemminger had three hits and scored twice in the win while Luke Campbell drove in a pair of runs. Eric Weyant and Austin Sleek each went 2-for-4 for Delweld.

Ben Webb doubled and scored a run for Laurel Auto Group, which sent 10 batters to the the plate in the seventh while scoring five runs on two hits, three walks, an error and a hit batsman.

Berkley Hills Renegades 18, First Commonwealth 1: Jay Shirley, Rick Jones and John Jones each had three hits as the Berkley Hills Renegades pounded First Commonwealth Bank in five innings at Roxbury Park. John Jones drove in four runs while Rick Jones scored four times. The Renegades’ Oliver Girman had three RBI and two hits in the win.

Jay Pudliner had two hits and scored First Commonwealth’s lone run in the second.

 

American Legion

Bedford 10, Stoystown 6: Visiting Bedford used three RBI from Jake Stover and two RBI apiece from Brad Winegardner and Cory Furry in a win over Stoystown. Bedford, whichj collected 13 hits, received two hits each from Kyle Droz, Winegardenr and Dylan Downs.

Ryan Fyock and Zach Shaulis each had two RBI for Stoystown.  Fyock, Shaulis and Nash Walker each had two hits.

Cernic’s 9, Stoystown 5: A four-run rally in the ninth inning pushed visiting Cernic’s to its first win of the season on Wednesday.

P.C. Callahan had three hits and two RBI for Cernic’s, which battled back from Stoystown’s five-run outburst in the first. Hunter Bizak (two runs scored), Justin Hrabosky (two runs, two RBI) and Ean Pringle each had two hits.

Stoystown’s B.J. Spangler reached base four times – one base hit and three walks.
