Laurel Auto Group tops Paul’s Renegades in back-and-forth affair, 4-3

Laurel Auto Group took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against Paul’s Renegades, securing a 4-3 victory on Thursday at Point Stadium.

Laurel Auto Group finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. Laurel Auto Group went up for good on an RBI single by Ryan Wardropper off Don Mcwreath, bringing home Nico Pecora.

Wardropper racked up two RBIs on three hits for Laurel Auto Group.

Matt Douglas baffled Paul’s Renegades, striking out seven batters. Douglas allowed three earned runs, five hits and two walks over seven innings.

Mcwreath was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.

The bottom of the second saw Laurel Auto Group take an early lead, 2-0. A double by Wardropper, scoring Pecora started the inning off. Laurel Auto Group added more runs when Wardropper scored on a groundout by Austin Sleek.
