Laurel Auto Group lost 6-5 in seven innings at Point Stadium on Thursday, despite outhitting Martella’s Pharmacy nine to eight.
Cory Wheeler went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for Laurel Auto Group. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.
Even though Martinelli allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory. Martinelli struck out four, walked three and gave up seven hits.
Martella’s Pharmacy was sparked by Boyer and Shirk, who teamed up for three hits and two RBIs.
Dylan Pietrantoni couldn’t get it done on the rubber for Laurel Auto Group, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 6 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out five.
The game was never in doubt after the first, as Martella’s Pharmacy scored five runs on a two-run double by Shirk and an RBI single by Williams.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fourth, Laurel Auto Group faced just a 6-3 deficit. A sacrifice fly by Collin Laguzza and an RBI single byBen Webb sparked Laurel Auto Group’s rally. Finally, Martinelli got Zac Heideto ground out to end the threat.
