Laurel Auto Group jumped out to an early lead on First Commonwealth and captured a 13-3 victory on Thursday at Point Stadium.
With nine runs in the first three innings, Laurel Auto Group left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An error, an RBI single by Sean Thompson, and a bases loaded walk by Collin Laguzza during the first inning and an RBI single by Zac Heide and an RBI double by Jon White in the second inning supplied the early offense for Laurel Auto Group.
Nick Vento went a perfect 4-4 at the plate for Laurel Auto Group. He singled in the second, fourth, and fifth innings and tripled in the seventh inning.
Nick Kolat got the win for Laurel Auto Group. He allowed three runs over six innings. Nick Kolat struck out four, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Nickle couldn’t get it done on the rubber for First Commonwealth, taking a loss. He lasted just 4 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
Laurel Auto Group added four more runs in the top of the third. A clutch error scored Gordon Barr to open the scoring in the frame.
Laurel Auto Group brought home two runs in the fifth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the fifth, Laurel Auto Group scored on an RBI single by Logan Urtz, scoring Nathan Mori.
Laurel Auto Group increased its lead with two runs in the seventh. Nick Vento started the inning with a triple, plating Urtz. That was followed up by Thompson’s single, scoring Nick Vento.
