Laurel Auto Group gets more hits, but not more runs in 5-4 loss to Delweld

Laurel Auto Group lost 5-4 in seven innings at Roxbury Park on Thursday, despite outhitting Delweld 11 to six.

It was a good day at the plate for Laurel Auto Group’s Nick Vento. Nick Vento went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Tyler Tubbs pitched lights out for Laurel Auto Group. Delweld managed just three hits off of the Laurel Auto Group’s pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his six innings of work.

Nathan Mori took the loss for Laurel Auto Group. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The top of the second saw Laurel Auto Group take an early lead, 1-0. Nick Vento got things going for Laurel Auto Group with a single. A stolen base then moved Nick Vento from first to second. Danny Clark doubled, plating Nick Vento.

Delweld answered Laurel Auto Group’s top inning with two runs of its own in the seventh. Delweld scored on an RBI single by MP Buckley and an RBI single by Stull.
