Laurel Auto Group jumped out to an early lead on First Commonwealth and captured a 12-0 victory on Thursday at Roxbury Park.
The game was decided quickly as Laurel Auto Group exerted its will early with five runs in the first three innings.
An RBI triple by Cory Wheeler and an RBI single by Ryan Wardropper during the second inning supplied the early offense for Laurel Auto Group.
Zac Heide racked up six RBIs on three hits for Laurel Auto Group. He singled in the third inning, tripled in the fourth inning, and homered in the sixth inning.
Alex DiRienzo struck out five hitters en route to the Laurel Auto Group win. Laurel Auto Group’s pitcher gave up just four hits over five shutout innings.
Hamer was charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked two and struck out two.
Laurel Auto Group scored three runs in the third inning, and then followed it up with three more in the sixth. In the third, Laurel Auto Group scored on an RBI double by Ben Webb, bringing home Collin Laguzza.
Laurel Auto Group piled on four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A single by DiRienzo ignited the offense,, plating Laguzza. That was followed up by Webb’s single, bringing home Luke Smeltz.
