Sixth-inning lead change vaults Paul’s Renegades past Laurel Auto Group, 7-4

A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as Laurel Auto Group fell to Paul’s Renegades 7-4 in seven innings on Wednesday at Point Stadium.

Cory Wheeler paced Laurel Auto Group at the plate. Wheeler went 3-4 and scored one run. He tripled in the third inning and singled in the first and fourth innings.

Bryja got the win in relief for Paul’s Renegades. Bryja pitched two innings and allowed one run.

Paul’s Renegades’ Noah Beasley, Dom Farina and Cam Gerhard combined for five hits and four RBIs.

Michael Van Lenten took the loss for Laurel Auto Group. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The bottom of the second saw Paul’s Renegades take an early lead, 4-0. Paul’s Renegades’ offense woke up as Farina singled before Gerhard tripled, plating Farina and Drew Hemminger. More runs came home for Paul’s Renegades when Gerhard scored on an RBI triple by Noah Beasley and Beasley scored on an RBI single by Ricky Jones.

Paul’s Renegades never trailed after scoring three runs in the sixth on an error and an RBI single by Kyle Droz.
