Sam Newcomer Drives In Four As Laurel Auto Group COLT Wins Over Johnstown Construction

Sam Newcomer wasted no opportunities at the plate on Tuesday, driving in four on three hits to lead Laurel Auto Group COLT past Johnstown Construction 12-8 on Tuesday. Newcomer drove in runs on a single in the fourth and a single in the seventh.

Johnstown Construction scored five runs in the seventh inning, but Laurel Auto Group COLT still managed to pull out the victory. Collin Kelley, Shane Sloan, Drew Buettner, Chayce Mccombie, and Blake Henry each had RBIs in the big inning.

Laurel Auto Group COLT fired up the offense in the first inning, when Mark Marino hit a solo homer.

In the bottom of the first inning, Johnstown Construction tied things up at three when Sloan singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Laurel Auto Group COLT pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Ryan Flowers singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run and Newcomer singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Laurel Auto Group COLT scored six runs in the seventh inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Newcomer, by Hunter Leech, an error on a ball put in play by Rashiyd Harris, and a double by Marino.

Flowers took the win for Laurel Auto Group COLT. He surrendered three runs on two hits over five innings, striking out four. Levi Allison and Newcomer entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Newcomer recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Laurel Auto Group COLT.

Mccombie took the loss for Johnstown Construction. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on four hits and striking out four.
Laurel Auto Group COLT smacked one home run on the day. Marino went for the long ball in the first inning.

Laurel Auto Group COLT totaled nine hits. Newcomer and Marino all managed multiple hits for Laurel Auto Group COLT. Newcomer went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Laurel Auto Group COLT in hits.

Sloan led Johnstown Construction with two hits in four at bats.
