JOHNSTOWN — AAABA League

First Commonwealth 5, Altoona Rail Birds 3: In Altoona, First Commonwealth Bank earned its first victory of the AAABA League season during an interleague win over the Altoona Rail Birds on Saturday.

First Commonwealth scored two runs in the first and added three in the fifth. Pitcher Chris Horten scattered six hits.

 

Johnston Realty 3, First Commonwealth 0: In Altoona, Johnston Realty blanked First Commonwealth in a close interleague contest.

The Altoona squad had a run in the third and two more in the fourth.

 

Wise Trailer Sales 4, First Commonwealth 0: In Altoona, Wise Trailer Sales’ pitcher Jextin Pugh tossed a no-hitter as the Altoona team blanked First Commonwealth in interleague play.

 

Late Friday

Martella’s Pharmacy 10, Ophthalmic Associates 0 (5): Luke Williams went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI, and Derek Younker pitched a three-hit shutout as Martella’s Pharmacy won its eighth consecutive game at Roxbury Park.

Anthony Fanelli went 2-for-3, scored three runs and drove in three runs. Dillon Boyer had two hits, with a double and three runs scored. Christian Leech went 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Younker had seven strikeouts and no walks. Martella’s notched its eighth shutout win of the season.

 

Martella’s Pharmacy 7, Laurel Auto Group 6 (8): In Friday’s other game at Roxbury, Jesse Cooper’s two-out single in the top of the eighth plated Matt McMillen with the go-ahead run in Martella’s extra-inning win over Laurel Auto Group.

Cooper went 4-for-5 with a run. Dillon Boyer went 2-for-3, scored once and drove in a run. McMillen went 2-for-3 and scored a run. Anthony Fanelli drove in two runs.

Laurel Auto Group’s Zach Zimmerman went 3-for-4 and scored two runs. Joe Fearer had two hits and drove in a run. Zac Heide doubled twice and had two RBI.
