Laurel Auto Group survives Berkley Hills Renegades rally, escapes with 7-6 victory

Berkley Hills Renegades wasn’t able to overcome the big hole it dug itself into against Laurel Auto Group, and Berkley Hills Renegades lost 7-6 to Laurel Auto Group after falling behind by five runs in the fourth inning.

Berkley Hills Renegades scored on an RBI single by J Shirley and a two-run single by Haubrich in the fifth inning and an RBI single by Marabito in the seventh inning. Still, Berkley Hills Renegades couldn’t catch Laurel Auto Group.

Laurel Auto Group was led by Ben Webb’s hitting. Ben went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Matt Kochasic recorded the win for Laurel Auto Group even though he allowed five runs over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out two, walked four and surrendered five hits.

B Myers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked three, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

The top of the first saw Berkley Hills Renegades take an early lead, 2-0. J Shirley singled to start things off before Mock homered, scoring J Shirley.

Laurel Auto Group pushed across one run in both the first inning and the third. In the first, Laurel Auto Group scored on an error, plating Mike Nowicki.

The lead stayed with Laurel Auto Group after the fourth, when it scored five runs on an RBI double by Ben, a fielder’s choice, and an RBI single by Zac Heide.
