Laurel Auto Group makes the most of 6 hits in 5-4 victory over First Commonwealth

Laurel Auto Group and First Commonwealth both threatened with rallies, but it was Laurel Auto Group that eventually took advantage of them in a 5-4 win at Point Stadium.

First Commonwealth out-hit Laurel Auto Group eight to six, but First Commonwealth stranded 10 runners on base.

Laurel Auto Group held off First Commonwealth, as First Commonwealth was unable to overcome a four-run fourth inning deficit.

First Commonwealth scored three runs in the seventh on a two-run single by Noon. Despite its efforts, First Commonwealth couldn’t finish the comeback.

Cory Wheeler was solid at the plate for Laurel Auto Group. Wheeler went 1-2, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning.

Dylan Pietrantoni got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed one run over six innings. Pietrantoni struck out two, walked three and gave up six hits.

Hamer was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

In the top of the third, First Commonwealth grabbed the early lead, 1-0.

The game was never in doubt after the third, as Laurel Auto Group scored three runs on a sacrifice fly by Nico Pecora and two singles.

Laurel Auto Group piled on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Wheeler doubled, plating Alex DiRienzo to start the inning. That was followed up by Ben Webb‘s single, scoring Wheeler.
