Laurel Auto Group falls behind in seventh inning in 9-5 loss to Martella’s Pharmacy

A tight game was decided in the seventh inning as Laurel Auto Group fell to Martella’s Pharmacy 9-5 on Friday.

Zac Heide went a perfect 4-4 at the dish for Laurel Auto Group. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

Shane Supanik got the win in relief for Martella’s Pharmacy. Supanik pitched 3 1/3 innings and allowed two runs.

Martella’s Pharmacy was sparked by Jack Shirk and N Neiderhiser, who teamed up for four hits and four RBIs.

Luke Smeltz was charged with the loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

The bottom of the first saw Martella’s Pharmacy take an early lead, 2-0. Ian Helsel started the rally for Martella’s Pharmacy with a single. Nate Negrisingled, plating Dillion Boyer. Martella’s Pharmacy pushed more runs across when Negri scored on an RBI single by Neiderhiser.

The game was never in doubt after the seventh, as Martella’s Pharmacy scored six runs on a two-run double by Shirk, a groundout by Neiderhiser, and two singles.
