Laurel Auto Group defeats Ophthalmic Associates after late game double, 6-4

Laurel Auto Group and Ophthalmic Associates traded the lead six times on Monday, but Laurel Auto Group ended up on top with a 6-4 win in seven innings over Ophthalmic Associates.

Laurel Auto Group pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. Laurel Auto Group went up for good on an RBI double by Zac Heide off Fluke, plating Ben Webb.

Danny Clark boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace Laurel Auto Group. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.

Collin Laguzza was in control on the rubber. Collin held Ophthalmic Associates hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none.

Logan Urtz recorded the win for Laurel Auto Group. He allowed four runs over four innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered seven hits.

Stiles took the loss for Ophthalmic Associates. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.

The top of the first saw Laurel Auto Group take an early lead, 1-0. Laurel Auto Group’s rally started when Danny doubled. A groundout by Mike Nowicki then moved Danny from second to third.

After posting one run in the third, Laurel Auto Group again scored one in the sixth. In the third, Laurel Auto Group scored on an RBI single by Ben, scoring Danny.

After a quick strike from Laurel Auto Group, Ophthalmic Associates responded with three runs in the third. Ophthalmic Associates scored on a two-run triple by Barron and an RBI single by Foor.

The lead was Laurel Auto Group’s to lose after fifth inning. More runs came home on a two-run single by Ben.
