Early lead not enough for Laurel Auto Group, drop 3-2 decision to Martella’s Pharmacy

Laurel Auto Group jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold on and lost 3-2 to Martella’s Pharmacy on Sunday.

Martella’s Pharmacy took the lead in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly by Cooper.

Sean Thompson worked out of 13 difficult moments for Laurel Auto Group. He pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed no earned runs on six hits. Sean faced his toughest moment in the sixth inning.

Derrick Zavatsky was charged with the loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

Laurel Auto Group jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. After Ben Webb singled, Laurel Auto Group kept the pressure on Martella’s Pharmacy pitching, as Zac Heide doubled, bringing home Ben.

Martella’s Pharmacy answered Laurel Auto Group’s top inning with one run of its own in the third. Martella’s Pharmacy scored on a sacrifice fly by Nate Negri.
