Delweld’s sixth inning charge helps upend Laurel Auto Group, 8-7

A tight game was decided in the sixth inning as Laurel Auto Group fell to Delweld 8-7 in seven innings on Friday at Point Stadium.

Danny Clark racked up three RBIs on two hits for Laurel Auto Group. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

In the top of the third, Delweld grabbed the early lead, 4-0. A single by Campbell, bringing home Weyant started the inning off. The scoreboard lit up again for Delweld when R.dirienzo scored on a walk by Brown, Helsel scored on a walk by Ferita, and Campbell scored on a groundout by Hemminger.

Laurel Auto Group quickly matched Delweld’s strong inning with a four-run inning of its own in the third. Laurel Auto Group scored on an RBI single by Ben Webb, a passed ball, and a two-run single by Danny.

Delweld got two-run rallies in the fifth inning and the sixth. In the fifth, Delweld scored on a wild pitch, plating Hemminger.

Laurel Auto Group answered Delweld’s top inning with two runs of its own in the fifth. Laurel Auto Group scored on an RBI double by Zac Heide and an RBI single by Danny.

The lead stayed with Delweld after the sixth, when it scored two runs on a groundout by A.direnzo and an RBI single by Hemminger.
