Berkley Hills Renegades outdone by Zac Heide and Laurel Auto Group, 7-4

Zac Heide went 3-3 at the plate, helping Laurel Auto Group to a 7-4 victory over Berkley Hills Renegades on Sunday at Roxbury Park.
He singled in the first, eighth, and ninth innings.

Logan Urtz recorded the win for Laurel Auto Group. He allowed four runs over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered eight hits.

Noah Smith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.

Laurel Auto Group closer Nathan Mori put away the final seven outs to record the save.

Berkley Hills Renegades jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Berkley Hills Renegades’ rally started when J Shirley doubled. A groundout by R Jones then moved J Shirley from second to third. Mock singled, plating J Shirley.

Laurel Auto Group went up for good in the fifth, scoring four runs on an RBI double by Ben Webb, two sacrifice flys, and an RBI single by Mori.

Two runs in the bottom of the seventh helped Berkley Hills Renegades close its deficit to 5-4. A two-run home run by Mock triggered Berkley Hills Renegades’ comeback. The Berkley Hills Renegades threat came to an end when Mori finally got J Jones to strike out.

Laurel Auto Group pushed across one run in both the eighth inning and the ninth. In the eighth, Laurel Auto Group scored on an RBI single by Jon White, scoring Heide.
