Alex DiRienzo makes 2 runs hold up for Laurel Auto Group in 2-0 win over Paul’s Renegades

Laurel Auto Group’s offense didn’t make it easy on Alex DiRienzo at Roxbury Park, providing two runs off of Paul’s Renegades pitching on Saturday, but Laurel Auto Group’s starter was still able to get the job done. DiRienzo threw seven innings on the way to a win in seven innings.

Laurel Auto Group held Paul’s Renegades without a run while DiRienzo was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on two hits while ringing up three.

Zac Heide paced Laurel Auto Group at the plate. Heide went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Morder ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.

Laurel Auto Group didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the fourth inning when it scored on an RBI double by Luke Smeltz.
